High School Senior Mathematics Teacher

You will ideally be someone who:

• Holds a BSc degree with Mathematics to at least second-year level;
• Has a minimum of six years experience teaching Mathematics at Matric/Grade 12 level;
• Has experience teaching within the IEB curriculum which would be advantageous;
• Has excellent subject knowledge and can communicate complex mathematical concepts clearly and confidently;
• Understands how to develop conceptual understanding rather than relying solely on procedural learning;
• Plans progressively and deliberately building knowledge and competence over time;
• Uses differentiated teaching strategies to support challenge and extend learners appropriately;
• Has strong experience in assessment examination preparation and effective revision methodologies;
• Has a demonstrated record of achieving consistent and measurable academic outcomes;
• Communicates effectively and sensitively with students and parents/guardians;
• Enjoys working collaboratively as part of a Mathematics department and broader academic team;
• Is organised resilient and dependable with a strong work ethic;
• Brings sound professional judgement discretion and high ethical standards to their work; and
• Understands and actively supports the importance of student wellbeing and safeguarding.
