Job Summary
Our client in the automotive component manufacturing industry is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Manager to join their team based in Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth).
Requirements:
- Degree or Diploma in Safety Management Environmental Health or related field.
- SAMTRAC NEBOSH or equivalent Health and Safety qualification.
- Minimum 5 years Health and Safety management experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Automotive industry experience will be highly advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 45001 and relevant South African legislation.
- Excellent leadership communication and problem-solving skills.
- Develop implement and maintain Health and Safety policies procedures and systems.
- Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and related regulations.
- Lead incident investigations and implement corrective and preventative actions.
- Conduct risk assessments safety audits and workplace inspections.
- Drive a strong safety culture through training coaching and employee engagement.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities and external stakeholders.
- Prepare and present HSE performance reports to management.
- Lead emergency preparedness and response initiatives.
