Job Summary

Red Ember Recruitment is seeking to hire on behalf of our client an experienced and dynamic Head of Training to oversee the planning development and delivery of training initiatives across the Group.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that employees managers franchisees and new store teams receive effective training aligned with operational requirements brand standards systems and company procedures.

This is a key leadership role requiring strong facilitation organisational and stakeholder management skills.
Training Facilitation & Development
  • Facilitate a variety of training programmes and classes.
  • Deliver practical in-store training and theoretical classroom-based training.
  • Develop and write course material for training programmes.
  • Coordinate facilitation training where required.
Annual Training Planning & Reporting
  • Develop and maintain the annual training planner.
  • Plan and schedule internal and external training throughout the year.
  • Coordinate sponsored training initiatives.
  • Track all training completed by employees across the Group.
  • Maintain accurate training records and compile training reports.
  • Develop and maintain franchisee training planners and brand packs including SOPs systems and procedures.
New Store Opening & Operational Training
  • Coordinate brand-specific staff training for new store openings.
  • Deliver management training on company systems and procedures including:
    • Kissflow
    • Magicbox
    • Micros
    • E-learning platforms
  • Provide training on audit procedures and systems.
  • Arrange in-store support facilitators including bar and coffee training.
  • Provide overall operational training support during opening week.
Company Induction Programme
  • Coordinate a monthly induction programme for new employees.
  • Provide an overview of the company its structure and growth opportunities.
  • Deliver systems and procedures training to newly appointed managers.
  • Introduce employees to the company organogram and relevant operational processes.
Workplace Skills Plan (WSP)
  • Coordinate the annual Workplace Skills Plan submission.
  • Track progress against annual WSP targets.
  • Ensure the annual submission is completed by the end of April.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date training and WSP records.
External Training Sponsorship Management
  • Manage external training sponsorships including DEG-related initiatives.
  • Maintain and regularly update the annual sponsorship budget.
  • Ensure compliance with sponsorship agreements and contractual requirements.
  • Evaluate and report on the effectiveness of sponsored training.
  • Compile and submit reports in line with sponsorship obligations.
  • Maximise available training funding opportunities.


Requirements
  • Diploma or degree in Human Resource Management Education Training and Development Hospitality Management or a related field.
  • A recognised qualification in Training and Development or Learning and Development would be advantageous.
  • Minimum 58 years experience in training and development preferably within the hospitality retail or franchise environment.
  • Proven experience managing training programmes across multiple locations.
  • Experience with new store openings operational training and staff development.

Advantageous:

  • Occupationally Directed Education Training and Development Practitioner (ODETDP) qualification.
  • Assessor and Moderator qualifications.
  • Knowledge of SETA requirements WSP and ATR submissions.
  • Relevant hospitality retail or franchise management qualifications.



Required Skills:
