Head of Finance

An established organisation is seeking an experienced Head of Finance to lead its Finance function on an approximately 6-month contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for a strategic finance leader with extensive financial management group accounting and governance experience to oversee the organisations financial operations ensure compliance with statutory requirements and provide strategic financial direction that supports organisational objectives.

• Lead and manage the Finance Department ensuring sound financial management practices and effective governance.
• Develop and manage the annual budgeting process in alignment with organisational strategy.
• Oversee financial planning forecasting cash flow management and budget control.
• Prepare monthly quarterly and annual management reports and financial statements.
• Manage group accounting activities including consolidations and equity accounting.
• Oversee valuation of investments and impairment assessments.
• Manage the external audit process and ensure timely completion of statutory reporting.
• Ensure compliance with the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) National Treasury regulations and internal governance frameworks.
• Monitor financial risks and maintain departmental risk registers.
• Present financial information and recommendations to Executive Management and Board-level stakeholders.
• Manage stakeholder engagements relating to financial reporting and governance.
• Lead mentor and develop the Finance team while driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.

• Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)).
• 810 years post-articles experience in broad-based financial management and auditing.
• 58 years experience in group accounting including consolidations and equity accounting.
• 58 years experience in investment valuation and impairment assessments.
• 5 years experience managing external audit processes.
• 58 years experience applying the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA).
• 5 years experience in a senior management or leadership role.
