A leading organisation is recruiting for an accomplished Head: Equity Investments to lead the origination execution and management of complex equity investment transactions. This executive-level opportunity is ideal for a strategic investment professional who can identify high-value opportunities structure innovative financing solutions manage stakeholder relationships and drive the growth of a high-performing investment portfolio.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and execution of the equity investment strategy aligned to organisational objectives.
• Originate evaluate structure negotiate and execute complex equity and infrastructure investment transactions.
• Oversee due diligence risk assessments credit approval processes and transaction closing activities.
• Manage and monitor a portfolio of investments ensuring optimal performance and risk mitigation.
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with investors fund managers government entities and key stakeholders across South Africa and the broader African market.
• Drive governance compliance and risk management frameworks across all investment activities.
• Champion digital transformation initiatives to improve operational effectiveness and investment outcomes.
• Lead mentor and develop a high-performing investment team while fostering a culture of excellence accountability and continuous improvement.

Requirements:

• Postgraduate qualification in Business Finance Engineering Economics or a related field (MBA CFA CA(SA) MSc or equivalent preferred).
• Minimum 12 years experience in private equity investment banking development finance or a related investment environment.
• At least 5 years experience in a senior leadership or management role.
• Proven experience leading equity investments within infrastructure projects.
• Strong expertise in private equity direct equity project finance blended finance and structured investment solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to assess negotiate structure and close complex investment transactions.
• Extensive knowledge of financial markets infrastructure investments regulatory environments and economic development priorities across Africa.
• Exceptional stakeholder engagement negotiation strategic planning and leadership capabilities.
• Professional certifications such as CFA CA(SA) PMP ECSA registration or advanced leadership programmes will be advantageous.
