HAIR & BASIN OPERATOR

TYGERVALLEY CPT - Western-Cape (ZA)

START DATE: ASAP / 01 November 2026

REPORT TO: Senior Stylist /Manager / Owner

TRADING HOURS & SHIFTS:

• Monday to Saturday
• 09:00am - 19:00pm
• Shifts & off days rotate

REMUNERATION & COMPANY BENEFITS:

• R6000 - R9500 Basic Salary p/m (Based on Experience & skills)
• Performance Incentives - at Owners discretion

REQUIREMENTS & EXPERIENCE:

1. Centrally based within or in reasonable travel distance to Tygervalley for ease of commute
2. Reliable transport to Tygervalley (there are public transport routes available)
3. South African citizen
4. Minimum 12 years practical experience as a Basin Operator Shampoo Assistant or Salon Assistant in a professional hair salon.
5. Proven experience in professional shampooing conditioning scalp massage and basic hair treatment applications.
6. Good understanding of different hair types textures and scalp conditions.
7. Ability to perform relaxing and effective scalp massages using appropriate techniques.
8. Knowledge of correct shampooing rinsing detangling and conditioning procedures.
9. Ability to work confidently with various hair textures including natural curly textured and chemically treated hair.
10. Excellent guest service skills with a warm friendly and professional manner.
11. Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
12. High standards of personal hygiene grooming and professional presentation.
13. Physically capable of standing for extended periods and performing repetitive shampooing and massage movements.
14. Ability to work efficiently in a busy salon environment and support multiple Hair Stylists.
15. Willingness to work retail trading hours including weekends and public holidays as rostered.
