Company and Job Description:
A large and established South African organisation is looking for a Group Financial Accountant CA(SA) to join its Finance team in the West Coast of Cape Town.This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified CA(SA) to transition into a commercial environment while gaining exposure to group reporting financial accounting tax audit accounting standards and finance process improvement.
The business offers a collaborative and people-focused working environment while the size and complexity of the organisation ensures that the work remains challenging varied and engaging.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with monthly financial and management reporting
- Support the preparation and review of group financial information
- Assist with the preparation and review of financial statements
- Perform financial reconciliations and ensure the accuracy of financial information
- Assist with month-end and year-end reporting processes
- Support tax-related requirements and compliance
- Assist with audit processes and liaise with external auditors
- Support the preparation of audit schedules and working papers
- Apply relevant accounting standards to financial reporting requirements
- Identify opportunities to simplify and improve finance processes
- Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and reporting
- Support the Finance team with group reporting requirements
- Contribute to finance projects and process improvement initiatives
Job Experience and Skills Required:
Qualification:- CA(SA) qualification
- Completed SAICA articles
- Newly qualified CA(SA) or recently completed articles
- Candidates from small or medium-sized audit firms are encouraged to apply
- Strong understanding of accounting standards
- Strong audit and financial reporting exposure
- Exposure to tax and compliance
- Commercial finance exposure advantageous
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
