Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate Gemologist to bring precision and expertise to our team in Johannesburg. If you have an eye for detail and a love for precious stones wed love to hear from you.
The Role

Youll take the lead on grading and evaluating precious gemstones applying rigorous standards to every piece that crosses your desk. Beyond gemstone assessment youll be a flexible hands-on member of the team ready to pitch in wherever needed.

What Youll Do
  • Grade and evaluate precious gemstones with precision and consistency
  • Maintain detailed accurate records of every assessment
  • Uphold and support our quality control standards
  • Take on ad hoc duties and support the wider team as needed


Requirements
What Were Looking For
  • Full or partial Gemological Institute of America (GIA) Graduate Gemologist (GG) diploma would be an advantage or any other gemmology qualifications or study in progress or completed
  • Experience in the gemstone or jewellery industry advantageous
  • A sharp eye for detail and a genuine passion for gemstones
  • Strong communication skills
  • Someone who thrives both independently and as part of a team



Required Skills:

A minimum of 2 years of sales experience ideally in a luxury or high-end retail environment A naturally warm confident and professional manner Someone who thrives in a performance-driven environment and takes pride in their results A genuine passion for people and the ability to connect with a diverse discerning clientele Emotional intelligence patience and the ability to truly listen to customers needs Availability to work retail hours including weekends Based in Johannesburg with reliable access to transportation. Valid work permit and clear criminal record Advantageous Previous jewellery sales experience and product knowledge Ability to speak European Mediterranean or Eastern European languages


Required Education:
