Fitter

Our client is seeking a Fitter to join their maintenance team in the Gauteng. This opportunity is suited to an artisan with mechanical maintenance experience maintaining production equipment

Key Responsibilities

Perform mechanical maintenance on production and plant equipment

Attend to breakdowns and complete repairs efficiently

Conduct preventative maintenance according to maintenance schedules

Inspect machinery and identify mechanical defects

Assist with machinery installations and equipment modifications

Read and interpret mechanical drawings

Conduct fitting alignment assembly and component replacement

Maintain accurate maintenance records and follow safety procedures

Minimum Requirements

• Matric
• Fitter Trade Test
• Plastic industry experience
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and maintenance skills
• Experience with pumps gearboxes bearings conveyors and related equipment advantageous
• Ability to use relevant hand and precision tools
• Good problem-solving and communication skills
• Commitment to safe working practices
