Job Summary

Centrax Digital is recruiting on behalf of a client in the finance sector for an experienced Financial Reporting Accountant to provide short-term capacity to the Group Reporting team and support delivery of monthly quarterly and ad hoc group reporting requirements.

Working closely with the Group Reporting team and business unit finance teams you will prepare review and consolidate financial information support regulatory and committee reporting and assist with reporting process improvements. The engagement requires a technically strong accountant who can operate independently engage effectively with stakeholders and produce accurate well-supported reporting outputs within tight deadlines.

Key focus areas: month-end reporting including preparation and review of results variance analysis and management pack commentary; Group Exco reporting including consolidation of inputs and query resolution; Investment Committee reporting schedules and supporting analysis; regulatory submissions including SARB reporting; license and Group QRT submissions; and the optimisation and maintenance of reporting workbooks templates and reconciliations.

Reports to: Group Reporting Team Lead. Onsite fixed term contract.



Requirements
7 to 10 years financial accounting and reporting experience including at least 5 years in insurance or financial services
Strong group reporting consolidation or insurance reporting experience
Sound knowledge of relevant financial reporting standards and local regulatory frameworks
Audit experience preferably within financial services or insurance
Strong knowledge of IFRS financial accounting principles and group reporting processes
Understanding of insurance financial reporting regulatory reporting and related prudential requirements
Advanced Excel capability including complex reporting workbooks reconciliations and data extracts
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail with the ability to investigate variances and explain financial movements clearly
Good business acumen and the ability to interpret financial information in a commercial context
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across business unit and senior finance stakeholders
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced reporting environment and manage competing priorities during peak reporting cycles
Advantageous: life or non-life insurance reporting exposure; QRT reporting experience

Benefits
Fixed term contract engagement of 6 to 12 months. A market-competitive contract rate is offered negotiable based on experience and confirmed at offer stage. The role offers exposure to group-level consolidation regulatory and committee reporting within a large insurance and financial services environment.
