Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports and analysis
- Manage general ledger reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial records
- Support month-end and year-end financial close processes
- Review financial statements and ensure compliance with accounting standards
- Assist with budgeting forecasting and variance analysis
- Monitor and strengthen internal controls across finance processes
- Support external and internal audit requirements
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to management
- Collaborate with operational teams to support financial planning and decision-making
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function
Job Experience and Skills Required
Education:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting Finance or a related field
- Professional designation advantageous (AG(SA) SAIPA or CA(SA))
Experience:
- Completed SAICA or SAIPA articles
- 35 years post-articles experience in a financial accounting environment
- Strong financial reporting reconciliations and general ledger experience
- Exposure to budgeting forecasting and financial analysis
- Retail trade agricultural or commercial industry exposure advantageous
Skills:
- Advanced Microsoft Excel
- Accounting systems proficiency
- Power BI advantageous
- SAP advantageous
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Valid drivers licence
- Afrikaans and English proficiency advantageous
- Willingness to travel when required
