Job Summary

GC Solar is looking for a Financial Accountant to join our team in Midrand. We operate in the fast-paced Solar PV and renewable energy industry. Youll manage financial reporting compliance and project accounting all while learning from experienced mentors.
If you have completed your articles and have 2 years of experience but want to grow in a purpose-driven industry this is for you.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
- Completed articles (SAICA SAIPA or similar)
- 2 years financial accounting experience
- Strong Excel and accounting software skills (Sage Xero or similar)
- Valid drivers licence and own transport
- South African ID or valid work permit
- Eager to learn (non-negotiable)
- Attention to detail
- Proactive and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
- Resilient under pressure (month-end deadlines dont scare you)
What you will be doing:
- Manage financial reporting and compliance (IFRS VAT SARS)
- Support project accounting for Solar PV installations
- Track project costs labour materials subcontractors
- Prepare management accounts and variance reports
- Assist with budgets forecasts and cash flow
- Handle VAT returns and tax compliance
- Work with project managers and operations teams
Bonus (not essential we can teach you):
- Experience in renewable energy sector
- Knowledge of project accounting or job costing
- Understanding of SARS eFiling and tax submissions
