Job Advert Summary

The Financial Accountant Reporting is responsible for the accurate timely and compliant financial reporting of local and foreign entities within the Group. The role supports monthly management reporting statutory reporting group consolidation budgeting forecasting and audit activities while ensuring adherence to IFRS corporate governance requirements and Group reporting standards.



Duties & Responsibilities

Monthly Management Accounts

Monthly Reporting

  • Prepare monthly management accounts for local and foreign entities.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of monthly financial information.

Admin Division

  • Assume full accounting responsibility in Sage X3 for designated foreign holding companies.
  • Process and manage recharges to local and foreign entities.

Statutory and Consolidated Reporting (Finnivo)

  • Upload trial balances for local and foreign entities into Finnivo.
  • Prepare dormant and trading statutory reporting packs for local and foreign entities.
  • Perform foreign currency translation (FCTR).
  • Calculate and account for minority interests.
  • Manage intercompany balances and ensure differences are identified and resolved.
  • Prepare KPI schedules and ensure alignment to Group consolidation requirements.
  • Review consolidated reporting packs.
  • Resolve Group Finance and KAP reporting queries.

Reporting and Reconciliations

  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Reconcile sundry debtors sundry creditors accruals inventory and GRNI balances.
  • Review open purchase orders and related balances.
  • Prepare Stats SA submissions.
  • Account for audit fee provisions.

Forecasting

Monthly Forecasts

  • Assist with the monthly forecasting process relating to:
    • Minority interests
    • Intercompany balances
    • Loans and leases
    • Capital expenditure
  • Respond to forecast-related queries.

Five-Year Forecasts

  • Assist with long-term forecasting relating to minority interests intercompany balances loans leases and capital expenditure.
  • Support the analysis and resolution of forecasting queries.

Budgeting

  • Assist with the annual budgeting process for:
    • Foreign holding and local companies
    • Minority interests
    • Intercompany transactions
    • Loans leases and capital expenditure
  • Support budget reviews and resolve budget-related queries.

Half-Year and Year-End Reporting

Audit Coordination

  • Assist with the coordination of external audits and resolve audit queries.
  • Respond to ad hoc audit requests.

Audit Packs and Statutory Compliance

  • Prepare and complete audit packs for local and foreign entities.
  • Manage and resolve intercompany audit matters.
  • Prepare IFRS-related schedules including IFRS 16 and IFRS 15 disclosures.
  • Assist with management versus statutory reconciliations.
  • Support statutory and audit-related queries.

Governance and Reporting

  • Assist with Audit and Risk Committee (ARC) schedules.
  • Assist with Board and quarterly reporting schedules.
  • Prepare ad hoc financial schedules and reports as required.

Annual Financial Statements (AFS)

  • Assist with the preparation of Annual Financial Statements.
  • Resolve queries relating to AFS preparation and disclosures.

Banking

  • Verify payments in accordance with delegated authority levels.

Ad Hoc and Departmental Support

  • Assist the Tax Department with queries.
  • Assist the Fixed Asset Department with queries.
  • Respond to ad hoc queries from the holding company.
  • Support the Financial Manager and Internal Audit with information requests.
  • Prepare CIPC questionnaires and related submissions.
  • Assist with additional finance-related requests and projects as required.


Minimum Requirements

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

CA(SA) or equivalent professional accounting qualification.

  • Minimum 1-3 years experience in financial reporting consolidation statutory accounting or audit.
  • Experience preparing or auditing management accounts and financial reporting packs.
  • Practical knowledge of IFRS and Group reporting requirements.
  • Exposure to foreign entities consolidations and intercompany accounting.
  • Experience supporting external audits and annual financial statement preparation.
  • Experience with Sage X3 Finnivo or similar reporting and consolidation systems will be advantageous.
