FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT
Cape Town CBD
Our client is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join their Cape Town-based group.
The groups core activities include property rentals and investments in listed shares. This is a hands-on accounting role suited to a candidate with a strong technical accounting background who is comfortable taking ownership of the full accounting function.

Our client is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join their Cape Town-based group.
The groups core activities include property rentals and investments in listed shares. This is a hands-on accounting role suited to a candidate with a strong technical accounting background who is comfortable taking ownership of the full accounting function.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Capturing creditors invoices
- Issuing rental and services-rendered invoices
- Processing and capturing journals
- Reconciling accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns
- Calculating and reconciling interest received and interest payable
- Calculating and reconciling dividends received and dividends payable
- Capturing and processing bank payments
- Performing bank reconciliations
- Preparing weekly and monthly management accounts
- Preparing detailed annual budget forecasts
- Ensuring the timely completion of the annual audit
- Implementing and maintaining effective accounting controls
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors degree / Diploma in Accounting or a related field
- Completed articles with an auditing / accounting firm would be highly advantageous
- Strong technical accounting knowledge
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
