Duties & Responsibilities

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

TheFinance Coordinatorin theSupply Chaindepartmentplays a critical role in supporting both the operations and supply chain financial processes. This role supports the Supply Chain Finance Manager and team through accurate reporting on key metrics coordination of financial processes and maintaining high levels of data accuracy. This position requires strong attention to detail analytical thinking and the ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines contributing to smooth operations and customer-focused experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Reporting

  • Preparing and issue financial reports (Budget variance Distribution centre expense reports weekly performance reports)
  • Analysing financial data and identify trends and leading indicators for overspending
  • Assist in cost allocations

Pallet Control & Tracking

  • Coordinate the receipt issue and return of pallets across warehouses transporters and customers.
  • Maintain accurate pallet movement record reconciliations and balances on a daily weekly and monthly basis
  • Investigate pallet variances shortages and damages and follow up with relevant stakeholders to resolve discrepancies.Liaise with Chep team to ensure monthly countsof stores &DCs

General Administration

  • Create and process purchase orders (POs) in accordance with company procurement procedures.
  • Create and manage JotForms to support operational and administrative processes

Annual Budgets

  • Contributing to the development of annual budgets
  • Communication on approved budgets to all Supply Chain expense owners

Compliance

  • Ensuring adherence to financial regulations accounting standards and company policies.
  • Ensure compliance with pallet control procedures safety standards and company policies.

Data Management

  • Maintaining accurate financial records updating databases and managing spreadsheets.
  • Support pallet audits and stock take ensuring all records areaccurateand up to date.

Process Improvement

  • Identifying areas for improvement in financial processes and procedures.
  • Identifyopportunities to improve pallet control processes reduce losses and increase efficiency within thelogistics operation.

Communication

  • Communicating financial information to non-finance staff and stakeholders.
  • Facilitate interactions between Chep team &Econofoodsteam
Desired Experience & Qualification

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Matric/Grade 12 Certificate
  • BCom (Accounting) and or equivalent Finance related qualification.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in a Finance or Accounting role preferably in Supply Chain Logistics or a related industry.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel
  • Experience working with pallet management systems or exchange pallets (e.g. CHEP) will be advantageous
  • Understand customer service principles and knowledge of company policies and procedures.
  • Able to work independently and under pressure.
  • Effective communication skills are necessary for interacting with internal teams and external vendors (written and verbal communication skills)
  • Effective time management is important for meeting deadlines managing multiple tasks

Required Experience:

IC
