Job Summary

Job Description

A leading organisation is seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to join their telecommunications operations team. This opportunity is ideal for a technically driven individual who enjoys working in the field troubleshooting complex issues and delivering high-quality installations and maintenance across a range of network technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute preventative remedial and corrective maintenance on telecommunications infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot and repair network outages across IP Transport Voice Optic Fibre and LAN environments.
  • Perform installations upgrades and commissioning of new equipment and fibre infrastructure.
  • Conduct site surveys and provide technical recommendations for installations and upgrades.
  • Complete quality acceptance testing of contractor work and ensure compliance with technical standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of all activities repairs installations and asset movements.
  • Manage spares tools test equipment and company vehicles responsibly.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and stakeholders to ensure service excellence and minimise downtime.
  • Support project delivery initiatives and contribute to continuous operational improvement.

Requirements:

  • Technical qualification in Telecommunications (essential).
  • CCNA or equivalent technical certification (advantageous).
  • Experience within a telecommunications environment.
  • Strong knowledge of networking cable installations and telecommunications infrastructure.
  • Proven fault-finding maintenance and installation experience.
  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Self-motivated disciplined and capable of working independently or within a team environment.
  • Valid experience supporting operational service levels and maintenance standards.
