Were seeking a strategic Expert Infrastructure Engineer with 8 years of IT operations and configuration management experience and proven expertise in Unix/Linux Ansible Automation and cloud platforms

The ideal candidate has deep experience with Unix/Linux operating systems (SUSE Redhat) shell scripting (Bash Perl Python) and GitHub/GitOps repositories with strong automation and HA systems knowledge

Demonstrable experience in Ansible Automation and Rudder High Availability systems including Veritas Infoscale AWS and Azure workloads and secure coding practices and config as code is essential

Strong DevOps mindset with ability to negotiate complex outcomes solve escalated tasks requiring deep product understanding and lead team leaders across critical production environments is critical

Lead installation configuration and maintenance of Unix/Linux clients and servers ensuring optimal performance uptime and compliance with security standards for critical production applications

• Qualifications and Experience

• Degree in Information Systems or equivalent experience
• Strong experience with coding and scripting (Bash PowerShell etc)
• Strong experience with Linux (RHEL Ubuntu SLES)
• Strong experience with Cloud Technologies (AWS Azure)
• Strong knowledge with version control systems (GitHub)
• Minimum of 8 years of IT operations experience
• Minimum of 8 years of configuration management and automation experience

Essential Skills Requirements

Technical:

• Strong experience with Unix/Linux operating systems (SUSE Redhat)
• Deep experience in Ansible Automation and Rudder or similar Automation tools
• Deep experience in shell scripting (Bash Perl Python)
• Deep experience of GitHub and GitOps repositories

• Knowledge of High Availability systems including Veritas Infoscale and Rudder
• Knowledge of system monitoring tools (Grafana or similar) and backup solutions
• Deep experience of secure coding practices and config as code
• Solid understanding of networking concepts (DNS DHCP SSH TCP/IP) and proxy configuration
• Any additional responsibilities assigned in the Agile Working Model AWM Charter

Agile and DevOps:

• Execution according to the Agile Methodology and attending of all team meetings including Stand-ups Sprint Review Sprint Retrospectives Sprint Planning meetings
• Daily use of the Agile Tool Chain as per the updates required by the respective feature team or teams
• Track and update Jira user stories to ensure due dates are met

Stakeholder Management:

• Negotiate (discussions and compromise. Issues are short-term operational medium-term tactical or limited strategic nature)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Attend and moderate operation meetings

Soft Skills:

• Self-motivated and keen attention to detail or time management
• Able to work under pressure
• Willing to do standby and work on weekends if needed
• Can solve escalated tasks that require a deep understanding of the product or service for which there are no senior level authority to defer the task to
• Can lead team leaders who each have their own team members

Advantageous Skills Requirements

• IT certifications (SUSE Veritas Infoscale) are a plus
• Knowledge of Agile Working Model
• Knowledge of Virtualisation technologies such as VMWare
• Knowledge of Private Cloud solutions
• Knowledge of Windows Server
• Knowledge of Dynatrace or Grafana
• Knowledge of Splunk
• Knowledge of containerization technologies such as podman Docker Kubernetes and OpenShift
• Basic knowledge of ITIL and PIC processes such as Problem-Incident-Change processes
• Basic knowledge of ServiceNow Tool and Processes
• Experience with ServiceNow (advantageous)
• Experience with Dynatrace (advantageous)
• Experience with Red Hat Satellite (advantageous)
• Any Linux certification such as RHCSA (advantageous)
• Ansible certification - RHCE (ex294/ex407) (advantageous)

Role Requirements

Operations and Support:

• Install configure and maintain Unix/Linux clients servers ensuring optimal performance and uptime
• Monitor system performance troubleshoot issues and provide timely solutions
• Apply system updates patches and security fixes as part of routine maintenance
• Deploy manage and operate workloads on AWS and Azure as well as implement security controls and compliance requirements
• Assist to ensure stability of systems and adherence of the team to GROUP Groups Operations standards
• Manage Problem Incident and Change process for dedicated ITSM service

Delivery and Configuration:

• Outcomes are complex and require the integration of several nuanced systems and processes in order to deliver on the required standards
• Create a product or system based on international best practice or guidelines from other companies that have implemented the same or similar solutions
• The problems are complex and may require complex solutions in single systems

Continuous Improvement:

• Improve a product or a system that already exists by making conceptual changes and enhancements
• Can manage the solution for complex problems that may require simple solutions but affect multiple systems
• Support compliance with security standards and company policies

Documentation and Knowledge:

• Create and maintain system documentation including procedures configurations and troubleshooting guides
• Ensure quality and up to date content of the knowledge base for the sub-product
• Keep documentation up to date in all relevant systems (e. g. as is configuration CMDB/Application Instance Wizard to be configuration Connect IT knowledge database resolveIT)
• Employee may be expected to provide guidance to lower level employees
