Estimator

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Container Estimator to join their Workshop team. This role is responsible for inspecting shipping containers assessing damage and preparing accurate repair quotations in line with industry standards.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a technical mindset who enjoys inspections problem-solving and working in a fast-paced container depot environment.

• Inspect shipping containers for minor structural damage.
• Assess repair requirements and prepare accurate repair quotations.
• Identify damage in accordance with company procedures and industry standards.
• Record inspection findings accurately and maintain detailed documentation.
• Work closely with workshop personnel to ensure quotations align with repair requirements.
• Ensure quotations are completed within required turnaround times.
• Maintain high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Follow all company health safety and operational procedures.
• Perform additional duties as reasonably required by management.

• Grade 12 / Matric.
• Previous experience in container inspections estimating structural repairs logistics engineering or a related technical environment will be advantageous.
• Knowledge of IICL5 (Institute of International Container Lessors) standards will be advantageous but is not essential.
• Good computer literacy.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
• Willingness to work in an outdoor depot environment.
