We are seeking a qualified and experienced Electrical Engineer (Light Current) to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design installation testing commissioning and maintenance of light current electrical systems and related control/instrumentation equipment.
The role requires strong technical knowledge problem-solving abilities and the ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams.

Duties & Responsibilities

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Electrical Engineer (Light Current) to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design installation testing commissioning and maintenance of light current electrical systems and related control/instrumentation equipment.
The role requires strong technical knowledge problem-solving abilities and the ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop light current electrical systems
Prepare technical drawings specifications and reports
Conduct system testing commissioning and fault-finding
Ensure compliance with SANS IEC and safety regulations
Manage project timelines and technical documentation
Liaise with contractors clients and project teams
Support maintenance and optimisation of electrical systems
Assist with control and instrumentation integration
Conduct site inspections and technical evaluations

Minimum Requirements

BEng / BSc / BTech in Electrical Engineering (Light Current)
Registration with Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) advantageous
Minimum 35 years relevant experience
Knowledge of PLCs instrumentation and automation systems advantageous
Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar design software
Strong understanding of electrical standards and regulations
Valid drivers licence
