Our client is actively seeking a highly skilled and resilient Senior Diesel Mechanic to lead and support their busy workshop in Bloemfontein Free State. If you have a proven track record of efficient workshop supervision and preventative vehicle maintenance this is an excellent opportunity to advance your career.
To succeed in this role and ensure fleet operations run at peak performance candidates must possess the following key competencies and technical skills:
- Technical Expertise: Heavy Equipment Maintenance Light Equipment Service Scheduled Routine Preventative Maintenance Daily Breakdown Repairs General Workshop Overseeing and Job Card Administration.
- Equipment Specialization: Hands-on experience repairing and maintaining Forklifts Tractors and Trucks (experience with MAN Trucks is preferable).
- Performance & Leadership Traits:
- Resilience: Strong ability to cope with pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Prioritising & Results Orientation: Ability to oversee the workshop assign tasks efficiently to mechanics and ensure deadlines are consistently met.
- Reliability & Attention to Detail: Ensuring job cards are meticulously completed and submitted on time paired with a persistent dependable work ethic.
Requirements & Qualifications
- National Senior Certificate or equivalent to NQF 4.
- Diesel Mechanic Trade Specific qualification.
- 5 Years post-trade experience working as a Diesel Mechanic.
- Code 14 drivers license is desirable but not essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide general overseeing of the workshop by ensuring assignment of tasks according to required deadlines and ensuring mechanics complete tasks efficiently.
- Conduct daily breakdown repairs on both light and heavy equipment.
- Conduct scheduled routine preventative maintenance and services on light and heavy equipment.
- Ensure all job cards are completed and submitted according to deadlines.
