An appropriate 3 year tertiary qualification (National Diploma/B-Degree or higher) ; A minimum of 3-years relevant management level experience.

Knowledge and understanding of decision support systems; Knowledge and understanding of the latest advances in public management theory and practice; Knowledge and understanding of policy analysis policy development and operational management monitoring and review processes; Knowledge of and working experience with the legislation regulatory frameworks policies and best practices that have a bearing on the line functions; Knowledge and understanding of information systems that aid in the management of knowledge and information pertaining to the line function; Knowledge and understanding of project management; Knowledge of operational management practices; Knowledge and understanding of procurement and tendering processes; Knowledge and understanding of modern systems of governance and administration;
Knowledge and understanding of public service procedures processes and systems; Knowledge and understanding of the regional and local political economic and social affairs impacting on the provincial government of the Western Cape; Knowledge and understanding of Constitutional legal and institutional arrangements governing the South African public sector.
