Data Center Shift Technician

A well-established operator of high-availability technical facilities is looking for a Data Centre Facilities Technician to support the day-to-day operation and maintenance of essential infrastructure systems. This role is suited to an electrically minded technician who thrives in a fast-paced environment where reliability preventative maintenance and rapid fault resolution are key priorities.

Job Description:

- Oversee the operation and performance of facility infrastructure ensuring optimal system availability
- Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance on electrical distribution backup power cooling and building services equipment
- Investigate equipment faults diagnose technical issues and implement corrective actions to minimise downtime
- Perform routine inspections system checks and condition assessments of critical plant equipment
- Support infrastructure upgrades equipment replacements testing activities and commissioning projects
- Maintain maintenance records incident reports and compliance documentation in line with operational requirements

Skills & Experience:

- Trade-tested electrician with proven maintenance experience
- Strong fault-finding abilities on electrical systems and associated equipment
- Experience interpreting technical drawings wiring diagrams and schematics
- Background working in industrial plants production facilities utilities or critical operational environments
- Good understanding of preventative maintenance principles
- Strong communication reporting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work within a rotating shift environment
- Exposure to standby power HVAC or facility infrastructure systems will be advantageous

Qualification:

- Trade Tested Red Seal Electrician
- National Diploma BTech BEng or BSc in Electrical or Electronic Engineering advantageous
