A South African ICT consulting and technology solutions company is looking for a Data Architech to join their team in Johannesburg GP on a 6-12 months contract. The company provides technology consulting managed IT services software development cybersecurity and telecommunications solutions to businesses.
Purpose:
Design and govern enterprise data architecture defining the strategic data models platforms standards and governance framworks that enable trusted secure and scalable data solutions across the organisation.

Purpose:
Design and govern enterprise data architecture defining the strategic data models platforms standards and governance framworks that enable trusted secure and scalable data solutions across the organisation.
Responsibilities:
- Define the enterprise data architecture and target-state roadmap.
- Develop enterprise data models architecture standards and guiding principles.
- Design modern Data Lakehouse and cloud-based data platform architectures.
- Establish and maintain data governance security and compliance standards.
- Evaluate recommend and guide the selection of data platforms and technologies.
- Partner with Engineering Analytics and business teams to deliver scalable data solutions.
- Define enterprise integration patterns and ensure seamless data interoperability.
- Support AI and advanced analytics initiatives through robust scalable data architecture.
Requirements:
- 10 years of experience in Enterprise Data Architecture.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric Databricks Azure Synapse and/or Snowflake.
- Strong expertise in enterprise data modelling and architecture frameworks.
- Solid understanding of SQL and modern data engineering concepts.
- Experience with Data Governance Metadata Management and Master Data Management (MDM).
- Proven experience working with cloud data platforms with Azure preferred.
- Knowledge of data integration patterns and API architecture.
- Strong stakeholder engagement communication and architecture governance skills.
