Role Purpose

Responsible for building and managing the operational business intelligence capability for GGI enabling a single version of the truth across all operational areas including broker and binder monitoring exposure analytics claims and procurement. This role drives standardized reporting operational insights data quality and governance to support decision-making and performance improvement. The role extends beyond traditional BI into predictive analytics and data-driven decision support to identify emerging trends risks and opportunities. It ensures that data is translated into actionable forward-looking insights to influence strategic and commercial outcomes.



Duties & Responsibilities
  • Participate in the analysis design development troubleshooting and support of the reporting and analytics platform
  • Develop BI solutions using SQL ETL scripting business intelligence tools database programming and reporting tools on the Microsoft BI Stack
  • Develop operational BI dashboards for Claims Procurement and Operations;
  • Build governed semantic layer ensuring single version of the truth; maintaining data model schema hierarchy within data warehouses and reporting systems
  • Integrate and standardize data across PAS and external systems;
  • Deliver claims analytics (cycle time leakage SLAs) with predictive insights on claims leakage severity and settlement trends
  • Deliver procurement analytics (spend supplier performance) including cost optimisation opportunities
  • Deliver broker and binder monitoring and analytics including performance forecasting and risk analysis
  • Develop product and commercial analytics including profitability drivers and growth opportunities
  • Assist with actuarial pricing embedment within the business and development of processes to support end to end pricing
  • Enable operational process monitoring and reporting with forward looking KPIs and predictive alerts
  • Support data quality reconciliations and controls;
  • Document BI assets and reporting definitions;
  • Automate recurring reporting processes.


Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelors degree / diploma in one of the following fields: Informatics Computer Science Statistics Mathematics or Information Technology.

Experience:

  • Proven experience working as a business intelligence or in a similar role preferably in the life and non-life insurance industry
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python R or Java as well as in data analysis and machine learning libraries (e.g. TensorFlow PyTorch scikit-learn)
  • Minimum of 4 years working experience in the following:
  • Power BI (essential)
  • SSIS (essential)
  • SSRS (essential)
  • Databricks (essential)
  • Python (essential)
  • Azure Data Factories (essential)
  • Azure Synapse Analytics (essential)
  • Python / R C C# Java (critical)
  • Microsoft SQL Server (critical)
  • T-SQL (critical)
  • Experience in insurance analytics strongly preferred (claims underwriting pricing broker performance)

Skills:

Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present complex ideas in a clear and concise manner.
Strong understanding of statistical concepts data modeling techniques and experimental design principles.
Capabilities in predictive analytics and statistical modelling.
Able to identify and frame business opportunities using data.
Ability to translate data insights into clear commercial actions.

Must have prior experience developing business intelligence solutions in large or midsize companies.

Must have experience in reporting and business intelligence solutions.

Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must be a team player and able to work with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Must have extensive experience with T-SQL.
Understanding of the financial services industry desired especially Insurance.
Experience using data visualization tools e.g. Power BI .
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to translate business requirements into actionable insights.
Experience with big data technologies (e.g. Hadoop Spark Kafka) and cloud platforms (e.g. AWS Azure Google Cloud Platform Databricks).
