Our client is seeking a Cost/Financial Accountant to join their finance team. This role is ideal for a finance professional who enjoys working close to operations analysing costs improving margins and translating financial information into meaningful business insights.

The successful candidate will play a key role in costing budgeting forecasting inventory reporting and financial analysis while partnering with operational teams to support informed business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform product project and operational costing
- Prepare and maintain accurate costing models
- Conduct variance analysis and investigate cost drivers
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
- Analyse and manage inventory stock and asset-related information
- Support month-end reporting and management reporting requirements
- Maintain and update Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Monitor profitability and margin performance
- Prepare cost estimates and support pricing decisions
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiencies
- Assist with audit-related requirements and supporting schedules
- Work closely with operational teams to improve financial performance
Job Experience and Skills Required
Education:- BCom Accounting Finance Cost and Management Accounting or related qualification
- Minimum 3-5 years relevant experience
- Cost accounting experience essential
- Manufacturing or mining industry experience essential
- Experience within a fast-paced operational environment
- Budgeting and forecasting experience
- Variance analysis experience
- Inventory and stock control exposure
- Previous audit exposure required
- BOM experience highly advantageous
- Advanced Microsoft Excel
- ERP systems exposure (Syspro SAP Sage or similar)
- Cost Analysis
- Management Reporting
- Financial Analysis
- Budgeting & Forecasting
- Inventory Management
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
