A busy manufacturing business is looking for a hands-on Cost Accountant / Inventory Controller to take responsibility for product costing inventory accuracy production reconciliations and stock controls.
This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career Cost Accountant who wants to develop strong practical experience in manufacturing operational finance and inventory management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate inventory records and protect the integrity of the inventory and production systems.
- Control and validate all inventory movements.
- Perform product costing cost calculations and standard-cost reviews.
- Reconcile production batches recipes yields and stock usage.
- Analyse production margins losses wastage and yield variances.
- Investigate and resolve inventory and costing discrepancies.
- Plan coordinate and supervise monthly stock takes.
- Reconcile physical stock against system records.
- Develop and improve inventory-control procedures.
- Assist with costing and inventory controls for new products and product ranges.
- Ensure production information is captured accurately on the operating system.
- Work closely with Production Operations and Finance to ensure reliable costing and stock information.
- Relevant qualification in Accounting Cost and Management Accounting or Finance.
- Experience in cost accounting inventory control or manufacturing accounting.
- Good knowledge of product costing standard costing stock reconciliations gross margins production yields and wastage.
- Strong Excel skills.
- Comfortable working with ERP inventory or production systems.
- Excellent numerical analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify discrepancies.
- Able to work confidently with finance production and operational teams.
- Experience in manufacturing FMCG or food production would be highly advantageous.
