This position is a Grade: 7 - 37.5 with an approximate salary range of $34090-$40920 and is subject to change based on experience skills and qualifications.

What Youll Be Doing

  • Serve as the first point of contact for the Chemistry Department greeting visitors and managing incoming calls mail and general inquiries with professionalism
  • Provide direct secretarial and administrative support to the Department Chairperson including calendar management correspondence and meeting coordination
  • Support faculty with scheduling document preparation travel arrangements and expense processing
  • Maintain department records files and databases to ensure accuracy and accessibility for staff and leadership

What You Bring

  • High School Diploma or GED; Bachelors Degree preferred
  • One to three years of work related experience
  • Experience working in an academic department may substitute for a particular degree
  • Demonstrated experience in a receptionist administrative assistant or clerical support role
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word Excel and Outlook
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with close attention to detail
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and shifting deadlines under moderate supervision
  • Comfort working within a university or higher-education environment where faculty and student needs vary widely across the academic calendar
  • A collaborative service-oriented approach that reflects the collegial culture of Lehighs College of Arts & Sciences
