You will play a critical role in driving health and safety standards ensuring legislative compliance managing risk and fostering an environment where every individual returns home safely at the end of each day.
Duties & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all health and safety activities across the construction project.
- Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act Construction Regulations and project-specific requirements.
- Develop implement and monitor health and safety policies systems and procedures.
- Conduct regular site inspections audits and risk assessments.
- Investigate incidents and implement corrective and preventative actions.
- Facilitate health and safety training inductions and awareness programmes.
- Engage with contractors site teams and stakeholders to promote a proactive safety culture.
- Compile and maintain all required compliance documentation and reporting.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities and client representatives where required.
Requirements
- Relevant qualification in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
- Registration with SACPCMP as a Construction Health and Safety Professional or Candidate CHS Professional.
- Proven experience within the construction or projects environment.
- Strong knowledge of South African health and safety legislation and construction regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to implement and manage comprehensive health and safety systems on site.
- Excellent communication leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work on-site in Kimberley Northern Cape.
