Job Summary
Duties & Responsibilities
Job Position: Component Engineer - automotive
Ref: 5257
Location: PE / Gqeberha
Salary: Commensurate with qualification and experience benefits
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Minimum of National Diploma / BSc or in Mechanical Mechatronic or Electrical Engineering
- Minimum of 1 years experience in automotive or similar engineering environment
- Component/system development and testing experience
- Exposure to engineering data systems and cross-functional teamwork
Technical and Behavioural Competencies:
- Strong technical understanding and problem-solving skills
- Project management and planning ability
- Good communication interpersonal and report-writing skills
- Ability to work independently and in teams
- High degree of computer literacy (Outlook Excel PowerPoint)
Key Performance Areas:
- Design develop test and release components in line with company standards
- Adapt designs to African market and environmental conditions
- Apply preventative and corrective engineering tools
- Ensure quality safety and reliability compliance before production release
- Prepare and maintain accurate engineering and technical data
- Manage engineering changes in line with production build levels
- Support production localisation and cost optimisation initiatives
- Participate in cross-divisional projects and technical forums
