Job Summary
Unitrans is seeking a Compliance Specialist to join our Risk and Compliance Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting compliance assessments identifying weaknesses and recommending corrective actions to enhance compliance effectiveness. This role also involves monitoring various compliance programs to ensure adherence to internal policies procedures and statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct compliance assessments and identify areas for improvement.
Recommend and track corrective actions to ensure compliance.
Monitor and enforce adherence to policies procedures and regulatory requirements.
Provide guidance on compliance-related matters to internal stakeholders.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform legal compliance monitoring through execution of various aspects such as;
- Establishing a legal register per territory
- Facilitate the completion of compliance declarations at various operations
- Conduct ad hoc compliance validation audits to confirm adherence to requirements.
- Recommend and assist with designing improvements to controls policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
- Conduct follow up audits to validate that management implemented the recommendations by the Compliance Department as well as external assurance providers such as Internal Audit and External Audit.
- Conduct control self-assessments and declarations to confirm adherence to policies and procedures.
- Implement monitoring processes and systems to continuously assess the effectiveness of Internal Financial Controls.
- Perform various treasury related administration in line with the Treasury Framework such as:
- Administering User access rights
- Maintaining signatories
- Reviewing and administration of bank guarantees and reserve bank applications.
Minimum Requirements
Relevant Qualification A degree or diploma in Risk Management Compliance Law Finance or a related field.
Experience At least 35 years of experience in compliance risk management auditing or regulatory affairs.
Knowledge of Compliance Frameworks Strong understanding of statutory requirements industry regulations and corporate governance principles.
Analytical & Communication Skills Ability to identify compliance risks recommend corrective actions and effectively communicate findings to stakeholders.
