Job Summary
The Compliance Manager leads and coordinates the organisations compliance management activities by establishing and maintaining effective compliance monitoring programmes. The role ensures that legal and regulatory obligations are identified translated into practical requirements and adhered to across the organisation. It provides structured compliance frameworks guidance policies and procedures that support adherence to applicable laws strengthen governance and minimise regulatory risk. The role further administers centralised compliance processes including treasury compliance and supplier onboarding governance.
Duties & Responsibilities
Compliance Programme Management
- Establish and maintain a structured legal compliance monitoring programme including compliance declarations audits legal registers and regulatory alerts
- Translate legal and regulatory requirements into practical implementable compliance programmes
- Develop maintain and continuously improve compliance frameworks policies and procedures
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of compliance programmes across the group
Regulatory Compliance & Risk Oversight
- Identify applicable legal and regulatory requirements across jurisdictions and ensure alignment with business processes
- Provide guidance to business on interpretation and application of legislation
- Monitor regulatory changes and proactively advise on compliance implications
- Escalate material compliance risks and breaches to senior management
Control Self-Assessments & Compliance Monitoring
- Design and manage control self-assessments (CSAs) and compliance declarations
- Ensure ongoing monitoring of adherence to policies procedures and regulatory requirements
- Conduct compliance reviews and audits to assess control effectiveness
- Provide visibility of compliance performance to management and governance forums
Treasury Compliance Administration
- Support and oversee treasury-related compliance activities in accordance with the Treasury Framework
- Facilitate bank-related compliance processes including signatory changes and governance requirements
- Ensure consistent application of treasury controls and regulatory requirements
- Maintain effective relationships with financial institutions to support compliance processes
Supplier Onboarding & Governance
- Design and maintain an effective supplier onboarding process aligned to compliance and risk requirements
- Ensure suppliers are appropriately vetted and onboarded in accordance with governance standards
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date supplier master data
- Continuously assess and improve the efficiency and risk management of the onboarding process
Process Improvement & Advisory
- Identify and recommend improvements to strengthen compliance processes and controls
- Collaborate with business units to design and implement effective compliance controls
- Support the development and delivery of compliance training and awareness initiatives
- Contribute to building a strong compliance culture across the organisation
Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting
- Engage with internal stakeholders management executives and regulators where required
- Build strong relationships to support compliance implementation and adherence
- Prepare and present compliance reports to management Board and Audit Committee
- Communicate complex regulatory requirements in a clear practical and actionable manner
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Legal Risk Compliance or related field
- Minimum 10 years experience in auditing compliance or risk management
- Experience in developing and implementing compliance programmes
- Professional certification (e.g. CISA CIA or similar) advantageous
