Job Summary
Our client is seeking a senior commercial and contractual professional to provide strategic leadership across complex Power & Energy projects and programmes in Gauteng. This role is suited to an experienced commercial leader with strong NEC and FIDIC expertise capable of protecting commercial performance while supporting collaborative and successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead contract strategy and administration from tender through to project close-out.
- Manage NEC3/NEC4 early warnings compensation events quotations defined cost and target-cost mechanisms.
- Administer FIDIC notices instructions variations claims extensions of time and payment processes.
- Oversee cost control forecasting revenue cash flow and margin reporting.
- Manage procurement subcontract administration valuations and final accounts.
- Advise project teams on delay disruption loss and expense entitlement and dispute avoidance.
- Lead commercial negotiations with clients contractors and other stakeholders.
- Provide project controls leadership across complex and high-value programmes.
- Support recovery planning re-baselining and resolution of complex performance challenges.
- Contribute to tenders and proposals including commercial strategies and delivery models.
- Mentor senior commercial and project controls professionals and support capability development.
Requirements
- Degree in Quantity Surveying Commercial Management Construction Management Engineering Law or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years commercial or contract management experience on major engineering construction energy or infrastructure projects.
- Hands-on experience administering NEC3/NEC4 and FIDIC contracts is essential.
- Strong experience in cost management forecasting procurement claims change control subcontract management and final-account negotiations.
- Power generation transmission substations renewable energy or related infrastructure experience will be highly advantageous.
- Professional registration or recognised commercial/contract management accreditation is advantageous.
- Strong client-facing and senior stakeholder communication skills.
- Ability to lead and develop multidisciplinary commercial teams.
- Strong commitment to governance contractual compliance record keeping and delivery excellence.
