The role of the Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT Therapist) is to provide evidence-based psychological therapies to clients experiencing a range of mental health issues. Purpose of the Role
The role of the Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT Therapist) is to provide evidence-based psychological therapies to clients experiencing a range of mental health issues. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality CBT interventions adhere to ethical standards and ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements.
Duties and Responsibilites
Clinical Assessment and Intervention
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients mental health needs.
- Develop and implement individualised CBT treatment plans consisting of
- time limited therapy sessions. Sessions are offered remotely.
- Utilise evidence-based techniques to facilitate clients understanding and management of their thoughts emotions and behaviours.
- Record accurate appropriate and timely notes using an electronic case management system working within the service policies and procedures.
- Work closely with the administration team who will support with the management of your clinical diary allocations and discharges.
- Ensure secure storage and processing of personal data adhering to data protection policies.
- Engage in regular clinical supervision to reflect on practice and ensure the
- quality of care.
- Participate in continuous professional development (CPD) activities to maintain and enhance therapeutic skills.
- Contribute to clinical communications providing input when required to support the education quality and experience of our expert panel.
- Adhere to the ethical frameworks and codes of conduct as outlined by professional bodies such as the British Association of Behavioural Cognitive Psychotherapists (BACP / BABCP).
- Respect clients dignity individuality and privacy being sensitive to cultural and individual differences.
- Stay informed about and comply with national policies and guidelines related to mental health practice.
- Ensure that practice aligns with current legislation and regulatory standards to provide safe and effective therapy.
- A recognised postgraduate qualification in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- Accreditation or eligibility for accreditation with a professional body such as the BABCP
- Strong understanding of ethical and legal frameworks governing therapeutic practice in the UK
- Demonstrated experience in delivering CBT interventions to diverse client groups
- Good technical knowledge and practical experience in therapeutic settings
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to build therapeutic relationships based on trust and respect
