Job Summary
Our client in Paarl is looking for a Client Services & Labour Relations Officer.
Purpose of the role:
To implement the end-to-end client service monitoring and
enforcement process for a specific allocated area therefore
contributing to fairness (for both the employer and employee) in the building industry through adherence to the collective agreement.

Requirements:
Matric / Grade 12.
An unendorsed drivers license with own motor vehicle that can be used for work purposes (business travelling costs reimbursed).
Proficient in at least two languages that is spoken in Cape Town.
Must reside in the Paarl area.
Conflict management skills.
Ability to work without supervision.
At least two contactable references.
Basic computer skills.
Minimum of 3 years Work experience in a related working environment.
Prospective candidates must undergo pre-employment background checks as part of the selection process.
All applicants must be willing to undergo a medical examination. Due to the requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act certain medical requirements are compulsory when working on a building site.
TO YOUR ADVANTAGE WILL BE:
Experience as a designated agent at a Bargaining Council.
Relevant degree or post graduate diploma.
HR/ER experience advantageous.
Retrenchment procedures disciplinary procedures (misconduct incapacity) etc disciplinary enquiries CCMA / Bargaining Council conciliations and arbitrations sound knowledge of labour legislation.
JOB DUTIES:
Conduct site visits and site inspections where required
Perform general compliance audits through mechanisms
(e.g. site visits tip-offs internal department referrals requests from sites company visits)
Perform case investigations.
Prepare assessments (related to claims) for industry employees or arbitration lawyers.
Issue compliance orders / issue subpoenas
Facilitate mediations / conciliations related to non-compliance to the industry agreement between industry employees and industry employers.
Facilitate arbitrations related to non-compliance to the industry agreement between BIBC industry employers.
Facilitate and industry employer and industry employee registrations
Provide inbound and outbound client service
Education and training for industry employers and employees on the basic conditions of employment and benefits agreed
through the collective agreement(include new employers / external role players / SMEs / etc.)
Planning and monitoring and following up on own work
Documenting and reporting - Capture update and maintain
information on relevant systems.
Reporting on own work progress
Internal and external stakeholder engagement
and management / collaboration
