Job Summary
A camp in the Timbavati is seeking a passionate hands-on Lodge Chef.
Key Responsibilities
- Meal Execution: Prepare high-quality breakfast lunch and traditional boma dinners for up to 16 international guests.
- Stock Control: Manage kitchen inventory food rotation ordering and minimize food wastage.
- Dietary Flexibility: Adapt menus creatively to cater to diverse dietary requirements (e.g. vegan gluten-free).
- Hygiene Standards: Maintain exceptional levels of kitchen cleanliness and food safety regulations.
Requirements
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 23 years of chef experience preferably within a remote game lodge or bush camp.
- Kitchen Skills: Solid knowledge of buffet handling and traditional South African bush cuisine.
- Bush Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a remote solar-powered eco-camp environment.
- Attributes: Strong time management capability to work independently and a positive team attitude.
- Legal: Must be a South African citizen or possess a valid legal work permit.
