KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
You will be responsible and accountable for enabling the company strategy by value creation for our customers while safeguarding the cost competitive position for Maersk in close cooperation with internal stakeholders. The annual spend under the scope is approximately USD 300 million.
As a Category Manager you will be exposed to a variety of classical category management tasks for example:
Defining the category strategy for your portfolio in line with global and regional category strategy with the objective of creating value for our customer by partnering with the right suppliers. The strategy needs to support the Must Win Battles for Procurement around Environment & Sustainability Resilience Digitalization
Mapping and analyzing data on current spend patterns and identifying cost drivers and opportunities in complex marketplaces.
Developing new models to analyze supplier offers and quantify total costs and total values of ownership.
Lead negotiations with suppliers by preparing a comprehensive negotiation strategy.
Ensure contract compliance by updating the relevant information in the contract management tools.
Simplify and effectively communicate complex messages to leadership.
Finally you will have significant responsibility from the start and be expected to execute and deliver on time and in line with our purposeful targets.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
A relevant bachelors degree
At least 7 years category management experience in shipping or construction
Someone who enjoys creating value through an innovative mindset and is comfortable challenging the status quo
A tech savvy top performer who excels in executing under pressure and over-delivering towards the business
Understands stakeholder management excellence and can build trust even in challenging situations
Demonstrates strong analytical skills and preferably with good experience in financial /excel modelling
Potential to quickly excel in our key differentiating sourcing skills: Sourcing Strategy Negotiations Cost Modelling and Project Management
International mindset willingness to travel and ability to appreciate and operate in a cross-cultural environment
