Buyer

About the Position

RCPM is seeking a competent organised and detail-oriented Buyer to support procurement activities for its mining operations in Lephalale. The successful candidate will assist with sourcing goods and services obtaining competitive quotations processing purchasing requirements and maintaining effective supplier relationships while ensuring compliance with company procurement procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Source goods and services in accordance with operational requirements.
  
• Request receive and compare supplier quotations to ensure competitive pricing and value for money.
  
• Prepare and process purchase orders accurately and timeously.
  
• Liaise with suppliers regarding pricing availability delivery schedules and outstanding orders.
  
• Maintain accurate procurement records and ensure supporting documentation is properly filed.
  
• Follow up on outstanding orders and resolve delivery or supplier-related queries.
  
• Work closely with Stores Inventory Maintenance Production and Finance departments to support operational requirements.
  
• Assist with supplier onboarding and maintain supplier information.
  
• Monitor purchasing requirements and help prevent delays caused by stock shortages or late deliveries.
  
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies delegated authority and applicable procedures.
  

• Grade 12 / Matric.
  
• Relevant qualification in Procurement Supply Chain Management Purchasing Logistics or a related field will be advantageous.
  
• Demonstrable experience in a Buyer Purchasing or Procurement role is essential.
  
• Working knowledge of requesting and evaluating quotations processing purchase orders and liaising with suppliers.
  
• Computer literacy including Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
  
• Strong administrative organisational and record-keeping skills.
  
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
  
• Ability to work under pressure manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  

Preferred Experience

• Experience in the mining engineering plant maintenance or industrial environment.
  
• Exposure to purchasing maintenance spares tools equipment consumables and operational supplies.
  
• Experience working with procurement or inventory management systems.
