Job Summary

Our client a well-established short-term insurance brokerage in Pretoria East is looking for a Broker Assistant to provide administrative and client service support to their broking team. This is an entry-level opportunity ideally suited to a strong administrator with a genuine interest in short-term insurance who is looking to be developed within the industry. Full training and support towards industry qualifications will be provided.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to the brokers including diary coordination and appointment scheduling
  • Prepare quotations policy documents schedules and client presentation packs
  • Capture and update client policy and risk information accurately on the brokerage system
  • Handle incoming client queries by telephone and email escalating technical matters to the responsible broker
  • Request and follow up on outstanding FICA FAIS and supporting client documentation
  • Process policy amendments endorsements and cancellations under broker supervision
  • Assist with renewal preparation including gathering renewal data and preparing premium comparisons
  • Liaise with insurers regarding quotations cover confirmations and outstanding requirements
  • Log claims notifications and assist clients with the completion and submission of claim documentation
  • Maintain accurate electronic and physical filing systems in line with POPIA requirements
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports on new business renewals and outstanding items
  • Provide general office and reception support to the broking team when required


Requirements
Requirements
  • Matric (Grade 12)
  • Some exposure to or a demonstrable interest in short-term insurance broking or financial services
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills
  • Good computer literacy particularly MS Word Excel and Outlook
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high standard of accuracy
  • Professional and friendly telephone and email manner
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and take direction
  • Willingness to study towards RE5 and an NQF Level 4 short-term insurance qualification
  • Fluency in English; Afrikaans proficiency advantageous
