BOOKKEEPER - R30k pm - GOODWOOD

Key Responsibilities
  • Take ownership of the full bookkeeping function across multiple entities ensuring accurate financial records up to trial balance.
  • Process day-to-day financial transactions including journals cashbooks supplier invoices customer accounts and general ledger maintenance.
  • Perform regular reconciliations of bank accounts debtors creditors and balance sheet accounts.
  • Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable processes ensuring timely collections and supplier payments.
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns and other statutory submissions through SARS eFiling.
  • Administer the monthly payroll process including employee payslips and payroll-related compliance.
  • Handle payroll taxes and statutory obligations including PAYE UIF SDL and related submissions.
  • Assist with month-end procedures and prepare management accounts for review by the finance team.
  • Support the ongoing improvement of financial processes controls and reporting within a growing business environment.

  • Proven experience in a full-function bookkeeping role with responsibility through to trial balance.
  • Solid working knowledge of SARS eFiling including VAT and payroll-related submissions.
  • Experience processing payroll using Sage/Pastel Payroll or a similar payroll platform.
  • Strong reconciliation skills and a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable managing a high-volume debtor environment and maintaining accurate customer accounts.
  • Well-organized dependable and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive solutions-focused approach.
Advantageous
  • Relevant bookkeeping or accounting qualification or studies towards a finance-related degree.
  • Previous experience within a retail wholesale or credit-driven business environment.
  • Ability to communicate in both English and Afrikaans.
