Duties and responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day administrative tasks for the athletics department or office.
Coordinate schedules and communications for coaches athletes and staff.
Organise and maintain records such as athlete registrations eligibility and compliance documents.
Assist with event planning and logistics for competitions training sessions and meetings.
Handle correspondence phone calls and enquiries related to athletics programmes.
Prepare reports presentations and documentation as required by the Athletics Manager.
Organise databases and information systems related to athletics activities.
Support budgeting purchasing and inventory management for athletics equipment and supplies.
Facilitate communication between the manager athletes coaches University staff and external organisations.
Ensure compliance with institutional policies and athletic governing body regulations.
Provide general support to the athletics team to ensure smooth operations.
Inherent requirements:
A relevant qualification on NQF Level 7 in Sport Management Sport Administration Sport Science Administration Public/Business Administration or a related field.
A minimum of two (2) years relevant experience in sport administration.
A valid safeguarding certificate in sport child protection or athlete safeguarding issued by a recognised sporting educational or professional body (attach a copy).
A valid drivers licence (attach a copy).
Recommendations:
Experience in a university or tertiary sporting environment.
Knowledge and understanding of hosting and coordinating events.
Knowledge of financial management.
Knowledge of sporting procedures.
Knowledge of sporting pathways and talent identification.
Knowledge and understanding of the administration and operational support of high-performance sport programmes.

Salary:
The annual remuneration package including benefits is R 464 881.91 R 585 070. 51 per annum depending on the budget available for the position relevant work experience and qualifications.
