Assistant Technical Manager

Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a technically skilled and hands-on Assistant Technical Manager to join a luxury safari property in Hluhluwe KwaZulu-Natal. This live-in opportunity is suited to a practical and experienced maintenance professional who can assist with the smooth running and upkeep of all technical aspects of the property.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Technical Manager with the day-to-day maintenance and technical operations of the property.
  

• Ensure all buildings facilities equipment and infrastructure are maintained to a high standard.
  

• Conduct regular inspections and identify maintenance requirements proactively.
  

• Assist with preventative maintenance programmes and scheduled repairs.
  

• Troubleshoot and attend to electrical plumbing mechanical and general maintenance issues.
  

• Supervise and assist with maintenance staff and daily task allocation.
  

• Coordinate with external contractors and service providers where required.
  

• Ensure maintenance work is completed efficiently safely and to the required standard.
  

• Assist with maintaining accurate maintenance records and reporting.
  

• Monitor maintenance stock tools and equipment.
  

• Support compliance with health and safety requirements.
  

• Work closely with lodge management to ensure minimal disruption to guests and daily operations.
  

Requirements:

• Previous technical or maintenance experience preferably within a luxury lodge safari property hotel or similar hospitality environment.
  

• Strong practical knowledge of general maintenance.
  

• Electrical plumbing mechanical and carpentry experience would be advantageous.
  

• Previous supervisory experience would be beneficial.
  

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  

• A hands-on approach with excellent attention to detail.
  

• Good organisational and communication skills.
  

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  

• A valid drivers licence would be advantageous.
  

• Ability to live and work in a remote safari environment.
