Assistant Residence Manager

Job Summary
A leading organisation is seeking a proactive and people-focused Assistant Residence Manager to support the day-to-day operations of a student accommodation residence. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment enjoys working with students and can balance administrative excellence with exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the first point of contact for students visitors contractors and stakeholders.
- Assist students with applications documentation room viewings key issuance welcome packs and accommodation-related queries.
- Manage reception operations incoming calls emails and general administrative functions.
- Maintain accurate student records schedules files and reports.
- Assist with meeting coordination minute taking and communication between students university representatives and internal teams.
- Support student wellbeing initiatives mentorship programmes and student life activities.
- Assist with the planning and coordination of events excursions and student engagement programmes.
- Monitor communication platforms and ensure effective communication between students and residence management.
- Handle student concerns take statements where required and assist in conflict resolution processes.
- Support residence compliance processes including fines visitor management sleepover procedures and contractor access.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 (Matric) is essential.
- A relevant Diploma or Degree in Office Administration or a related field will be advantageous.
- Minimum 24 years experience in a reception administrative or student accommodation environment.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant administrative systems.
- Excellent communication interpersonal listening and report-writing skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to engage professionally with students visitors landlords contractors and university stakeholders.
- Experience within a university or student residence environment will be highly advantageous.
- Knowledge of student support conflict resolution statement taking and student wellbeing practices is preferred.
- A collaborative energetic and solution-driven approach to work.
