Our client in the steel manufacturing industry is seeking an experienced Assistant Purchasing Manager to join their Procurement and Supply Chain team.
Diploma in Purchasing Supply Chain Logistics Procurement or related field Minimum 5 years procurement/purchasing experience Minimum 2 years supervisory or senior buyer experience Experience in steel manufacturing engineering mining or heavy industrial environments advantageous Strong negotiation supplier management and procurement planning skills ERP systems experience (SAP Syspro Sage Oracle etc.)
Key responsibilities include: Procurement and sourcing of materials spares equipment and services Supplier relationship and contract management Inventory planning and stock availability support Cost-saving initiatives and budget control Procurement compliance reporting and team support
