Job Summary

Our client a renowned leader in the South African hospitality industry is seeking an ambitious Assistant Financial Controller in Greenpoint Cape Town to join their finance team at one of their flagship establishments. If you are a detail-oriented finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced operational environment this role offers the opportunity to gain exposure to the financial operations of a high-performing hospitality business. You will play a key role in maintaining financial accuracy supporting operational decision-making and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the finance function.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage daily banking processes and reconcile cashbook balances.
  • Oversee foreign exchange transactions and banking administration.
  • Monitor and control stock for operational materials and supplies.
  • Prepare financial reports and assist with month-end reporting processes.
  • Ensure accurate financial records and maintain supporting documentation.
  • Assist with finance administration and compliance requirements.
  • Liaise with operational departments to ensure effective financial controls.
  • Support process improvements and maintain strong internal controls.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • BCom Accounting Finance or a related financial qualification is essential.
  • Previous experience in an Assistant Financial Controller Accountant or similar finance role.
  • Strong understanding of banking cashbook reconciliations and financial reporting.
  • Experience with foreign exchange transactions will be advantageous.
  • Exposure to stock control and inventory management is essential.
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical ability.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced customer-focused environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
