Accounts Payable Clerk

We are recruiting for an Accounts Payable Clerk on behalf of a client to join a fast-paced finance team. This opportunity is ideal for a candidate who enjoys working in a structured environment has strong analytical abilities and can build effective relationships with both internal stakeholders and external vendors.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure all Accounts Payable transactions are processed accurately completely and within the correct accounting period.
• Prepare monthly General Ledger reconciliations and follow up on open and outstanding items.
• Perform key Accounts Payable controls including GR/IR duplicate payments debit balances and blocked payments.
• Monitor vendor ageing and foreign payments.
• Analyse and process daily EFT payment runs.
• Assist with internal control processes and support continuous process improvements.
• Participate in SAP/FIORI/ARIBA enhancements and Accounts Payable testing initiatives.
• Maintain strong vendor relationships and ensure efficient query resolution to avoid operational disruptions.
• Support audit processes and ensure compliance with internal control standards.

Requirements:

• BCom Accounting Degree or equivalent Accounting qualification.
• 12 years experience in an Accounts Payable or finance-related role.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles particularly Accounts Payable.
• MS Office proficiency is essential.
• SAP experience preferred.
• Ariba experience preferred.
• Coupa experience advantageous.
• Exposure to audits compliance policies and internal controls will be beneficial.
• Strong interpersonal analytical and problem-solving skills.
