Accountant

Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join a well-established fine foods distribution and import business in Stellenbosch. This opportunity is ideal for a finance professional with strong accounting knowledge excellent analytical skills and the ability to manage financial processes accurately within a fast-paced commercial environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day accounting functions ensuring accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  

• Prepare monthly management accounts financial reports and supporting schedules.
  

• Oversee accounts payable and receivable ensuring timely processing and reconciliation.
  

• Perform bank supplier and customer reconciliations investigating and resolving discrepancies.
  

• Assist with month-end and year-end financial reporting processes.
  

• Monitor cash flow expenses and financial transactions to support effective financial management.
  

• Manage VAT calculations submissions and other relevant tax-related requirements.
  

• Assist with budgeting forecasting and financial analysis.
  

• Maintain accurate records relating to imports supplier payments and associated financial transactions.
  

• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards tax legislation and internal financial procedures.
  

• Liaise with suppliers customers auditors and other stakeholders regarding financial matters.
  

• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes reporting accuracy and financial controls.
  

Requirements:

• Proven experience in an accounting role preferably within distribution importing wholesale or a similar commercial environment.
  

• A relevant accounting qualification would be advantageous.
  

• Strong understanding of accounting principles reconciliations and financial reporting.
  

• Experience with VAT tax compliance and month-end procedures.
  

• Excellent numerical analytical and problem-solving skills.
  

• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  

• Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  

• Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
  

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  

• A professional proactive approach with a strong sense of accountability.
  

Salary: R35000 R40000 per month depending on experience.

Location: Stellenbosch Western Cape.
