Job Summary

  • Oversee the technical management and day-to-day performance of assigned tanker vessels to ensure safe reliable and efficient operations.
  • Monitor vessel maintenance activities and ensure the Planned Maintenance System (PMS) is properly implemented and maintained.
  • Plan coordinate and supervise dry-docking major repairs surveys modifications and other technical projects within approved timelines and budgets.
  • Ensure vessels comply with Class Flag State IMO ISM ISPS SOLAS MARPOL and other applicable maritime regulations and company requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support to Masters Chief Engineers and vessel teams on machinery equipment cargo systems and other technical matters.
  • Prepare monitor and control vessel technical budgets and operating expenditure while identifying opportunities for cost optimization.
  • Coordinate with shipyards classification societies manufacturers contractors service providers and suppliers for repairs inspections servicing and procurement.
  • Conduct regular vessel visits and technical inspections identify deficiencies and ensure corrective and preventive actions are completed promptly.
  • Support tanker vetting inspections internal and external audits incident investigations emergency response and technical improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate technical records and reports monitor vessel performance and provide management with regular updates on vessel condition maintenance expenditure and outstanding technical matters.


Requirements
  • Diploma or Degree in Marine Engineering Mechanical Engineering Naval Architecture or a related engineering or maritime discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience as a Technical Superintendent managing tanker vessels and/or relevant senior seagoing engineering experience on oil chemical or product tankers.
  • Good knowledge of tanker operations marine engineering systems Planned Maintenance Systems dry-docking vessel repairs Class and Flag requirements and applicable maritime regulations.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting analytical planning budgeting communication leadership and stakeholder management skills.
  • Willingness to travel internationally for vessel visits inspections dry-dockings shipyard attendance and emergency technical support when required.
