Job Summary

  • Oversee the technical performance maintenance and operational readiness of assigned PCTC vessels.
  • Coordinate planned maintenance activities repairs dry-docking surveys and technical upgrades to ensure vessel reliability.
  • Monitor vessel machinery equipment performance fuel consumption and technical operating costs to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure vessels comply with applicable class requirements flag-state regulations statutory standards and company procedures.
  • Review technical reports defect lists maintenance records and vessel performance data providing timely guidance to shipboard teams.
  • Liaise with vessel Masters Chief Engineers shipyards class societies suppliers and service providers on technical matters.
  • Prepare and manage vessel maintenance budgets repair expenditures spare parts requirements and technical procurement activities.
  • Support dry-docking projects by developing work scopes evaluating quotations monitoring repair progress and verifying completed work.
  • Conduct vessel inspections and technical audits to assess machinery condition safety standards maintenance quality and regulatory compliance.
  • Provide technical support and coaching to onboard engineering teams while promoting safe efficient and cost-effective vessel operations.


Requirements
  • Diploma or Degree in Marine Engineering Naval Architecture Maritime Studies or a related technical discipline; a valid Marine Engineer Officer qualification or Certificate of Competency is advantageous.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in a Technical Superintendent Assistant Technical Superintendent Marine Engineer or similar vessel-management role preferably with PCTC/Ro-Ro vessels.
  • Strong knowledge of marine engineering systems planned maintenance dry-docking vessel inspections class requirements and maritime regulations.
  • Familiarity with PCTC vessel operations including cargo deck systems ramps ventilation systems machinery and other vessel-specific technical equipment.
  • Strong communication problem-solving budgeting coordination and stakeholder-management skills with the ability to work independently and travel when required.
