Role Overview
This Property Underwriter role will support Everests Wholesale & Specialty Property portfolio across the full APAC region underwriting new and renewal business across diverse markets while helping drive disciplined profitable growth. The successful candidate will join a collaborative team of six and partner closely with brokers cedents clients and internal stakeholders across the region. Experience with facultative reinsurance and/orthe Lloydsmarket isadvantageous given therolesexposure to wholesale facultative and open market property placements across APAC. This role is based in our Singapore office.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Underwrite and manage a diversified Property portfolio across the full APAC region within defined underwriting authority ensuring alignment with Everests risk appetite pricing discipline and profitability targets.
Evaluate new and renewalbusinessacross multiple occupancies through both broker and direct channels including primary proportional and excess structures.
Underwriteand service APAC open market property accounts (new and renewal) including wholesale and facultative placements.
Review submissions (including statements of valueslosshistory and catastrophe modelling outputs) and apply sound underwriting judgement to assess risk and determineappropriate termsand conditions.
Drive profitable growth byidentifyingand securing new business opportunities across key APAC markets whilemaintaininga disciplined approach to risk selection.
Prepare and negotiate quotes proposals and bind risks within delegated authority ensuring contract clarity and compliance.
Develop andmaintainstrong relationships with brokers cedents and clients across the full APAC region to support long-term portfolio development.
Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders including Actuarial Claims Engineering Reinsurance Legal/Wordings Accounting and Regulatory teams to ensure effective risk assessment and service delivery.
Contribute to portfolio management through monitoring aggregation exposure management and performance tracking.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regional market dynamics competitor positioning and emerging risk trends across APAC.
Support the development and mentoring of junior underwriters fostering a collaborative and high-performanceteamculture.
Apply both analytical tools (including catastrophe models and AI-enabled underwriting platforms) and professional judgement to support consistent high-quality underwriting decisions.
Contribute to continuous improvement of underwriting processes tools and governance frameworks.
Travel across APAC markets asrequiredto support business development and relationship management.
Qualifications Education & Experience
Bachelors degree (preferred).
Minimum7 years experience in property underwriting ideally with exposure to APAC markets.
Experience with facultative reinsurance and/orthe Lloydsmarket isadvantageous.
Strong understanding of catastrophe modelling actuarial concepts and portfolio management principles.
Demonstrated ability to build and manage broker and client relationships across diverse APAC markets.
Commercially astute with strong negotiation and decision-making capabilities.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with senior internal and external stakeholders.
Highly analytical detail-oriented and able tooperateeffectively in a dynamic growth-focused environment.
Collaborative team player with a commitment to developing others and contributing to team success.
