SUMMARY OF THE ASSIGNED DUTIES INCLUDING GOALS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE POST

This post is an excellent developmental opportunity for an e-learning specialist specializing in the most advanced online training techniques. The E-learning Administrator works in the Virtual Academy Unit which forms part of INTERPOL Global Academy Sub directorate under the Capacity Building and Training Directorate (CBT).

The Virtual Academy is INTERPOLs digital training solution providing a range of self-paced and instructor-led training for law enforcement in INTERPOLs member countries. The digital learning current ecosystem consists in interoperable cloud-based platforms fulfilling different functionalities and focuses such as Training Management Learning Management and online collaboration which evolve according to the needs identified. Each platform is underpinned by a quality assurance mechanism and complies with the organizations security and legal requirements. The platforms also provide a gateway of information and resources for the INTERPOL management and authorized users

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND ACTIVITIES

The main activities to support are:

  • The management of the e-learning platform other distance learning tools and their communities of users.
  • The development of new online courses.

DUTY 1

Assist in the development and management of the digital learning ecosystems underpinning the Virtual Academy Unit including policy development statistics training resources and updates.

DUTY 2

Develop a wide range of digital training content including e-learning videos podcasts and reading in line with INTERPOL training so doing she/he uses the appropriate hardware (e.g. basic recording studio equipment) and software (e.g. editing software authoring tools Learning Content Management System and Learning Management System) and may also support the development and/or implementation of a visual identity for the training in line with INTERPOL policy.

DUTY 3

Support the delivery of digital training courses principally through participant engagement management but also through the delivery of select modules pertaining to her/his area of expertise if relevant. He/she will also conduct effective first level troubleshooting during delivery.

DUTY 4

Support the Learning Platforms Administrator in the users access to e-learning resources through secure web sites mobile devices and apps.

DUTY 5

Support the creation and implementation of mechanisms designed to evaluate digital collaboration with the Quality Assurance and Evaluation Unit he/she reviews the results of these evaluations and proposes improvements to future digital training initiatives as part of a continual review and improvement cycle

QUALIFICATIONS COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS

Education and qualification required:

  • Degree in police IT administration or related discipline
  • Good knowledge of training and e-learning development or administration tools

Experience required:
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in training ideally training at distance
  • Experience in e-learning development and web-content management is a strong asset.

Languages:
  • Excellent English written and oral communication skills are mandatory. A working knowledge of Arabic French and/or Spanish would be a strong additional asset.

Abilities required:
  • Solid presentation communication and facilitation skills both written and oral.
  • Be able to manage the Adobe creative suite video edition software and graphic design aptitudes.
  • Results driven and achievement-oriented with a pro-active attitude.
  • Ability to multi-task and to work well under pressure.
  • Proven ability to develop and to maintain good working relationships with all parties within INTERPOL as well as outside.
  • Digital literacy (intermediate to advanced).
